Microsoft has release an Xbox One controller firmware update which aims to improve connectivity time and stability of the controller.
New features in Xbox One Controller update.
- Quick Connect – previous controller connections to an Xbox One took 4-5 seconds when powering on a controller, now they should occur in ~2 seconds
- Stability improvements – the firmware also provides a number of fixes that address issues submitted by customers and preview participants
You can update your controller for your Xbox One console by press Menu and then going to Settings > Devices and Accessories. You will need to have your controller connected to the console by USB cable for the update to take place.
The update takes a couple of minutes to complete but when and if you update your controllers be sure to follow the on screen instructions and don’t move your controller (don’t play with buttons, analogue sticks and triggers etc) until the update has completed.
