Nintendo released Amiibo three weeks ago and some figures sold out and don’t appear to be getting restocked by retailers.
A Nintendo announcement shed some light on why this is
We will aim for certain Amiibo to always be available. These will be for our most popular characters like Mario and Link. Due to shelf space constraints, other figures likely will not return to the market once they have sold through their initial shipment.
Nintendo hasn’t announced which of the figures won’t be re-stocked although Canadian retailer, Video Game Plus tweeted on the subject.

Amazon third party sellers are also reflecting this news with Marth costing $64.99/£21.54 (bargain for UK shoppers), Villager $62.00/£49.95 and Wii Fit Trainer costing a minimum of $34.99/£21.18 through the site with Amazon carrying no stock of its own. All other figures are available for their usual $12.96 retail price direct from Amazon.
