The game will be released under the Sierra brand, a brand which Activision is bringing back into use as of the announcement at Gamescom 2014. Developed by Lucid which is made up of ex-Bizzare Creations staff who made the original Geometry Wars.
The new version of the geometry based twin stick shooter takes the playable environment into a 3D world where the playing surface takes the form of spheres, cubes, “peanut” (Ed. I’m sure there is a real name for it) and other three dimensional shapes. Brightly coloured and faced paced, the video shows off a lot of what made the original so addictive.
Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions releases on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One starting on the 25th November.
