Bungie’s DLC addition to Destiny, The Dark Below releases on the 9th December for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One for $19.99. However, not everything is created equal as Sony has snagged itself a deal with Activision and Bungie by claiming one of the DLC’s Strike Missions as an exclusive for PS3 and PS4 owners. Bungie has said that the exclusive is until “at least” fall of 2015. This means the cooperative Strike mission called The Undying Mind is unavailable to Xbox owners of the game for almost a year.
The Dark Below includes:
- New weapons, armour and gear
- Max Light Level raised to 32
- New Cooperative Strike
- 3 new Multiplayer arenas
- New Story Missions
- New six player Raid
The news of content being cut has caused outrage among Xbox players on Bungie’s own forums and across the Internet and added fuel to the already hostile console war environment.
This will especially come as a surprise to those who bought Special Editions of the game prior to launch where this missing DLC content wasn’t mentioned at the point of sale.
