The Sims 4 has become the latest title to fall foul of piracy, the key give away that this had happened came from those that had pirated it themselves. Players started to appear on the Official The Sims 4 forums reporting a graphical issue after a Sim had become naked.
When a Sim takes off their clothes, the area is pixelated and when they put their clothes back on, the pixels disappear, only that isn’t the case with pirated copies. Instead the pixels remain and spread across the screen like so:
Apparently pirates have found a way to bypass this already but The Sims 4 joins a number of games using trip wires to catch out would be freeloaders along with “Faith won’t run” in Mirror’s Edge and the hilarious “Everyone is pirating my games and I’ve gone bankrupt” in Game Dev Tycoon.
The Sims 4 is already available in North America, Europe and is due for release in the UK tomorrow, 5th September.
