Minecraft sales figures on consoles have surpassed those on PC and Mac. This is according to Mojang’s data analyst and business development guy Patrick Geuder Saga.
Mojang’s latest stats show that 15,797,892 people have now bought the PC or Mac version of the game, with 15,365 players picking it up in the last 24 hours.
Minecraft for the Xbox 360 was released on May 9th 2012 and the PlayStation 3 version followed on December 17th 2013 selling one million copies in just over a month.
Minecraft console editions together just passed Minecraft for PC/Mac. And across all platforms we’ve sold almost 54 million copies.

Ports are in development for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and Xbox One.
