Blizzard is in the process of taking down the controversial Auction House that made up part of Diablo 3.
A note at the bottom of the auction house reads: “The Auction House is shutting down. You must claim your items from the Completed tab by 6/24. Existing auctions will complete based on the time remaining.”
Last year, when Blizzard announced it was planning to shut down the Auction House, it said it had undermined Diablo’s core gameplay.
“It became increasingly clear that despite the benefits of the Auction House system and the fact that many players around the world use it, it ultimately undermines Diablo’s core gameplay: kill monsters to get cool loot,” explained Diablo 3’s John Hight.
