According to retail research firm InfoScout, the Xbox One was the best-selling game hardware at Walmart and Target on Black Friday in North America taking 31% share of the market beating the PlayStation 4’s 15% share.
Microsoft had other reasons to celebrate as the Xbox 360 took another 30% of console sales bringing Microsoft to 61% of consoles sold on Friday by the two retailers.
The PlayStation 3 was third with a 15% share of consoles sold while Nintendo’s Wii U accounted for 6% of sales and the Wii took a 1% share.
InfoScout attributed much of Microsoft’s success to supply constraints on the PlayStation 4 and the discounted Xbox 360 price tag. The Xbox One was the sixth best-selling item at Walmart, behind three TV deals, a HP laptop, and a 16GB Apple iPad Mini.
