DICE shooter, Battlefield 4 has had a rough time of it this weekend after the PC version of the first person shooter came under a DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack which prevented players from getting into game throughout the weekend.
On Saturday evening embattled producer Ali Hassoon – aka Striterax – took to the Battlelog forum to explain:
Hi guys, we are being targeted by a DDOS, but working on fixing it asap. I’m sorry somebody is ruining your and my day. Rest assured we are doing our best to mitigate the situation though.
Also one of the hot topics for Battlefield 4 took place on PlayStation 4 where players complained about crashes and instability which launched in North America on Friday alongside the console. DICE announced it would issue an emergency server update.
We are deploying a new server to the PlayStation 4 platform, you might be disconnected from your session as servers are restarting to apply the new patch. The server update addresses a very severe crash issue on the PS4.
Battlelog was filled with post weekend comments from those not satisfied with DICE’s response and some are now calling for PlayStation 4 players to be issued with free upgrades to Battlefield 4 Premium by way of compensation.
DICE followed the weekends events with a post today on Battlelog with their update plans for the title across the multiple platforms:
