According to The Verge, Apple has mailed out its official invitations to a September 10th event at Apple’s Cupertino, California campus.
The invite features the Apple logo in white against a background of multicolored circles, with the tagline, “This should brighten everyone’s day.” That tease coincides with one of the rumored announcements for the event, the iPhone 5C. The “C” in the product’s name supposedly standing for “colour” as the phone is expected to be available in a number of different colours expanding beyond the white and black options of old. The iPhone 5C is reported as being a low cost alternative to the standard iPhone 5 as it will ship with a plastic backing instead of aluminium.
Beyond that, Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 5S, an upgraded edition of the standard handset. The 5S big changes are reported to be a fingerprint scanner as well as the usual hardware improvements to CPU and camera.
