Unity and Microsoft have finalised a deal which sees the popular Unity Engine adding support for Windows Store, Windows Phone 8 and Xbox One according to their Microsoft Build Conference presentation.
The console version of the Unity engine will include support for the Kinect camera, Smart Glass and Xbox One cloud computing.
On the Windows side of Unity, the engine maker has said it will release the commercial version of its Windows Store Add-on this Summer and include support for both Windows Store apps and Windows Phone 8 apps.
Part of the deal is that Unity will also waive the usual $1,500 license fee for licensed Unity Pro 4 developers. Developers who create games that are getting published by Microsoft Studios will also get to use Unity Pro for free to use on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
