So, what did we learn about Microsoft’s next console in the Xbox Reveal?
For a start, it is called Xbox One and isn’t the prettiest looking console ever released. The large angular design and slot loading drive makes the machine look like a cross between a flattened PlayStation 3 and a TiVo.
The new console will come with “Kinect 2” which can record video at 1080p at 30fps.
The rear of the console is home to HDMI input, HDMI out, two USB ports, Kinect and digital audio connectors, Ethernet and power.
The controller, whilst it looks similar to the Xbox 360 controller has a number of similarities and some differences. The controller still uses batteries (and likely Plug n Play style battery packs) The pad will also have force feedback in its trigger buttons. Also, according to Microsoft it is wider and more ergonomically-shaped than the 360 controller.
Under the angled hood is a 500GB hard drive and 8GB of RAM.
More about the games and service is due at this years E3 event which is held on June 11th to 13th.
